Is all the poli-talk getting you down...

Is all the poli-talk getting you down? Need a laugh or five?
All this election turmoil reminds me so much of 2004. For a few years, I had been heavily involved in a coffee lovers forum.  I mean, I not only ground my own coffee beans, I bought green beans & roasted them myself. And yet many long time regulars of the forum (message board) were at each others’ throats over the candidates. Even t [...]

Diamonds may be a girls best friend, ...

Diamonds may be a girls best friend, but Mincs are pretty fun too!
I’ve been making my own cards, on my computer, for over 20 years.  But I’m relatively new to the crafting/scrapbooking/hybrid world, having discovered it in early 2012.  So new to me was the Minc.  There is an Anna Griffin branded version (6 inches) of the Minc as well as a Heidi Swapp branded version (12 inches).  What a neat too [...]

Heavenly Mother’s Day 2014

Heavenly Mother’s Day 2014
Some of us have mothers who have passed on & Mother’s Day can be a sad day.  However, we can hopefully put a smile on someone else’s day by “adopting” them. After my aunt passed away several years ago, my cousin sent a Mother’s Day card to my mother every year.  After my mother passed away two years ago, I ha [...]

A few cards

A few cards
Since I’m so behind on posting, I’m combining a few in this post. First up is a birthday card for my niece.  I wanted something bright & cheerful.  Although cutting text for quarterfold cards (since they are so small) is usually a fruitless endeavor IMO, this phrase came out quite nice. The card paper is from DCWV (Diecuts Wi [...]

Money/check envelopes

IMG_0550-resized
I wanted to discreetly give a check to a friend. But I also wanted it to be pretty! So I enclosed the check in this cute money envelope made with the Silhouette Cameo. The digital paper was from LetteringDelights Circle Paper Pack. The flower was made using a cut from Silhouette Online store & the leaves were from the Cuttlebug Daisy qu [...]

Birthday card & matching tea bag...

Birthday card & matching tea bag!
I’ve a sister who is not particularly fond of pinks & purples. So I selected a blueish/green digital print for the card & matching tea bag cover. I added some washi tape that I’d bought at Walgreens on a whim – I just wanted to buy some & didn’t find one I particularly liked, but I liked this the best of [...]

Tissue box covers & rolled/quill...

IMG_0569
I like these as small gifts.  Something you can give someone & they won’t feel obligated to give something in return.  Plus, it’s something if they don’t like, they can always re-gift it. This is the most recent one.  The flower on the front is the first rolled/quilled flower, I’ve done.  They look a bit complicate [...]

Hostess gift boxes for flameless cand...

QVC-flameless-candles
Last holiday season, my hostess gift of choice was a flameless candle bought in three packs from QVC. But since they came in a three pack, I needed a box for each one. So…I made them on my Silhouette Cameo.   This one was gifted right before Thanksgiving, so I wanted a fall theme but not really Thanksgiving, yet. This one was fo [...]

Going Away Card for Juanita

IMG_2323
This was a going away card for a gal who worked with my husband for many years. Her name is cut with the Cricut Lyrical Letters cartridge. The butterfly was cut on the Silhouette Cameo, using a cut from SilhouetteOnline. The cattails on the inside were cut on the Cricut using the Art Nouveau cartridge. The font is JasmineUPC. To create the [...]

Piano birthday card – Cricut Qu...

IMG_0242
I made this a few months ago for a good friend who has a grand piano in her home. The sentiment was printed on my computer printer. The piano, keyboard & notes are Cricut cuts & I used black sparkle paper.
